Capture Process: Real-Time Motion Capture
The
test subject is then asked to perform the desired athletic activity
in the lab while the 8 cameras around the room capture the marker
locations at a rate of 240 frames per second. The 3D marker locations
are streamed in real-time to the computer along with any other measurements
from force plate or electromyographic (muscle activity sensing)
equipment. In addition, two digital camcorders are used to videotape
front and side footage of the athletic performance for visual observational
analysis.
