Motion
Analysis Tools
The
Center for Human Performance utilizes 3D optical passive motion
capture to quantify kinematics (geometry of motion) and kinetics
(forces that cause or change motion) of human movement. The motion
analysis system consists of 8 Eagle
Digital cameras, which allow for capture of up to 500
frames per second at full resolution. In addition, the Center employs
4 floor mounted force platforms that measure the impact or ground
reaction forces caused by the foot striking the floor during the
activity. A dual-processor workstation integrates the entire system
in real-time, resulting in an instant capture of the athlete's motion
and forces.
