Center for Human Performance (CHP) routinely conducts footwear
testing to assess the biomechanical and, in some cases, the muscle activity
effects of various walking and running shoes of many known brands (ie, New
Balance, LA Gear, Champion, Nike, ASICS, Adidas, etc.). To participate in the
footwear testing program, you will need to meet some of the requirements listed
below. You will be matched to a specific footwear test that best matches
certain eligibility requirements and goals.
Footwear Test Eligibility Requirements:
* age 18 years or older
* women sizes 6, 6.5, or 8.5
* men sizes 10 or 10.5
* must be willing to travel to the Center for Human Performance in San Diego
for up to 2 visits of 1.5 hours each
* must be in good health with no injury
Footwear Testing Process:
* wear shoes in our facility and walk and/or run a 12-m runway while motion
capture and/or muscle activity data are collected For long-term testing, these are the procedures to be implemented:
* walk in test shoes 30-60 minutes daily for a period of 4 weeks
* return to our facility for repeated testing and wear testing interview after
4 weeks
Compensation:
For each visit, you will receive a $25 gift card for food, department store,
coffee, etc. If you are selected for long-term testing (ie, 4 weeks of wear),
you will also receive the shoes free-of-charge.
